Electromagnetic Stirrer for Slab Billets

Applicable section:800×120mm~2500×300mm
The system consists of Electromagnetic Stirrer, Low-frequency Power Supply and Control System, and Cooling Water System.

In the continuous casting of slab billets, the technique of electromagnetic stirring at secondary cooling area is adopted usually. The reason for this depends on difficulty in economy and technology as well as influence on quality of casting billets. At present, three models are mainly used, namely single-wave magnetic field, bilateral-wave magnetic field and roller-type-wave magnetic field, with the latter two are typical. As to the electromagnetic stirring roller of roller-type-wave magnetic field, its outline is as same as back-up roller, easy for installation. The electromagnetic stirring roller is located at external arc side in arcual continuous casting billets, being charged with two-phase or three-phase low-frequency current. The induction coil is placed in the back-up roller, using the way of round copper wire winding and outer water cooling. The back-up roller is made in non-magnetic, high Cr-N, and heat-resistant stainless steel, with excellent wear & heat resistance, and long service life. Usually, two to three couples of stirring rollers are used in internal and external arcs of slab billet, so as to expand the stirred area and strengthen the metallurgical effect.
